Details to review before reserving
The guided canoe tour runs for approximately three hours without a break. Launch is in the afternoon—entry is possible from 13:00 and no later than 13:30; boats must be returned at the Sigmaringendorf exit by 16:00.
Donautal Kanuverleih supplies 2-, 3- and 4-person canoes (including family boats), life vests, paddles and one dry pack or 35L waterproof barrel per boat, a technical briefing, and a canoe return transport service.
Bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen), shoes that can get wet and secure on the foot (old trainers or watersports shoes), quick-dry clothing, a fleece or rain jacket if cool, gloves to prevent blisters, a leash for glasses, towel, and sufficient drinks and snacks (not in glass).
Prices start from €50 for 2-person canoes, €75 for 3-person, €98 for 4-person; family options and specific rates are published by the operator. Transfers to/from the meeting point and arrival/departure logistics are not included in the price.

Where and when do we meet for the tour?
Meet at the hanging bridge in the Burgwiesen in Sigmaringen (between the beach-volleyball field and skatepark); entry is possible from 13:00 and must occur by 13:30.
What happens if river levels are too low or too high?
There is a driving ban at low water if the Beuron gauge is under 53 cm; the operator also cancels when levels are too high for safe passage (they set a guideline at 140 cm for Beuron and adjust as needed). You will be informed by e-mail at the latest by 19:00 the evening before if the tour is canceled for water levels.
What is included in the trip price?
Included are the canoe (2/3/4 person options), life jackets, paddles, one dry pack or 35L waterproof barrel per boat, a briefing in paddling technique, and canoe return transport; travel to/from the meeting point is not included.
Where do we get out and return the boats?
The designated exit is in Sigmaringendorf; after the Donaubrücke the take-out is on the left side where you hand the boats back to the Donautal Kanuverleih team (boats must be returned by 16:00).
Are there portages on the route?
Yes—there is a portage around the weir below the castle (boat trolleys are provided) and another natural threshold before Sigmaringendorf that must be carried around or navigated carefully.
