Frequently asked questions
Planning Your Outing
What is the cancellation and weather policy?
The captain makes a go/no-go decision 1 hour prior to departure and trips are not canceled based solely on forecasts. If the captain cancels for weather, your deposit/initial payment is refunded in full. Guest cancellations are fully refundable up to 14 days in advance; bookings become non-refundable within 14 days.
What should we bring on the tiki boat trip?
Since this is a BYOB charter, bring your preferred beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks. Also recommended: weather/boating/swimming clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, towels, a hat, and a camera. Coolers, ice chests and ice are provided.
How early should we arrive and what about waivers and parking?
Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure to allow for parking, unloading, a safety orientation and boarding. Complete the digital waiver in advance (all guests must sign; parents/guardians sign for minors). Free parking is available at Stan's Idle Hour Seafood Restaurant.
Are bathrooms available on board?
Yes — the tiki boat is equipped with a clean, private marine head, though guests are encouraged to use marina facilities before boarding for maximum comfort.
Is gratuity included in the charter price?
No. Gratuity is not included; while not required, a customary tip of 15–20% for the captain and crew is appreciated when you enjoy the experience.
Do you cancel based on forecasts?
No. The operator does not cancel based solely on forecasts because local conditions can differ; the captain observes real-time weather and decides approximately one hour before departure.
