A fairy-tale birthday inside Schloss Braunfels: a guided treasure hunt for little princes and princesses.
Märchen von Prinzessin Luise is a castle-hosted birthday program at Schloss Braunfels that turns local history into a hands-on fairy tale: children aged five to eight explore museum rooms, solve puzzles drawn from the legend of Princess Luise and finish the celebration with cake and small treasures in the castle’s tower and great hall.

A tale brought to life in the rooms where Princess Luise once lived
The program is built around the Märchen von Prinzessin Luise: the tale is revisited with the children and then used as the map for a playful search through the museum spaces, where key objects and locations from the story are identified and discussed.
Cake, crowns and a turreted birthday table
After roughly an hour of exploration, the group moves to the birthday room high in the castle tower for about 30 minutes of cake, songs and soft drinks; the birthday child sits on a throne while the guide serves beverages and the room is set and decorated by the castle.
A treasure reveal in the Rittersaal
At the close of the celebration the children find small gifts in the knights’ hall — either brought by the party in a treasure chest or assembled by the castle on request — completing the fairy‑tale arc of discovery.

Details to review before reserving
The birthday program lasts approximately 120 minutes in total, with roughly one hour of castle discovery followed by the tower celebration and refreshments.
Bring a lightly edible cake, muffins or savory finger food that is easy for children to eat; if you prefer, the castle can assemble a treasure for the children on request.
Schloss Braunfels supplies soft drinks (water, apple spritzer and lemonade), dishes, cutlery, napkins and birthday room decoration; the birthday room will be set by the castle staff.
Children may come dressed as princes and princesses but outfits should not be too long due to tripping risk; in cold months the castle is unheated so warm clothing is advised even though the birthday room in the tower is warm.
Review cancellation policies before reserving.
