On the tidal rim of Anstruther you’ll move from wind-bleached sand into a maze of rockpools and fronds, learning to recognise edible seaweeds before bringing a small harvest back up the beach to be cooked into snacks with your hosts.

Graham and Christine have taught foraging for eight years across hedgerow, mushroom and seashore food, and each has lived exclusively on wild food for two separate months as part of the Wildbiome Project.
Hands-on seaweed identification and collecting
As the tide edges out you’ll explore rocks and pools to identify edible, healthy seaweeds and collect a small quantity to use in the cooking session that follows.
Seaweed-inspired snacks on the beach
After foraging the group moves back up the beach to prepare and sample a few seaweed-inspired snacks while discussing ways to incorporate seaweed into everyday diets.
