Operated by Sled Wyoming out of Sheridan, the machine is sized for groups and for long days on remote trails, with flexible pick-up and drop-off arrangements that let you set your own pace.

The Defender Max Limited comes with a fully enclosed cab, heat, power windows and a windshield wiper—features that keep you comfortable and focused on the trail whatever the weather. It seats six and includes a winch for technical sections.

Ample ground clearance and a 72" width let the Defender Max take on some of the toughest roads the Bighorns can throw at you, giving access to remote ridgelines and forest roads that pack the best scenery.

The operator only covers total loss; other damage will be billed for parts, labor and possible lost rental time, with shop recovery and labor rates applied.

Where do I meet to pick up the Defender Max Limited?
There are multiple pick-up/drop-off locations. The primary trailhead is the Red Grade Road snowmobile parking lots; Sled Wyoming may also drop off machines at Spear-O-Wigwam (Forest Service Road 293) or Wyoming High Country Lodge (Forest Road 13) depending on your lodging.
What time can I pick up and return the UTV?
By default machines are dropped off at 9am at the trailhead. There is no strict return time—most finish around 5pm—though you can request specific drop-off times and may be allowed to keep rentals longer or overnight when booking consecutive days.
Is fuel included in the rental price?
No. Fuel is not included. If you’re at Wyoming High Country Lodge you are responsible for refueling at their pumps; at Spear-O and Red Grade the operator will fuel machines and charge the card on file.
Will I have cell service on the trails?
Expect no cell service on about 90% of the trails. The operator recommends downloading maps and using the Avenza app with the Wyoming ORV GeoPDF maps for offline navigation.
What are the age and licensing requirements?
You must be 21 years old to rent with a valid driver’s license; drivers as young as 16 may operate the vehicle with a valid license.
What does insurance cover and what are damage liabilities?
The operator covers only total losses of the machine. Any other damage will be charged for parts, labor and possible lost rental time; shop labor rates are $125/hour and recovery fees for broken down machines start at $95/hour from the time staff leave the shop.
Can you do custom drop-offs or trailer rentals?
Custom drop-off and pick-up locations are available for an additional fee. Trailer rental may be an option but is not guaranteed.
