Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Outing

What happens on the day?

Check in at reception in the main building and arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time. You will be fitted for equipment and introduced to your snowboard instructor.

What happens during the session?

Your instructor will guide you through the lesson, help put you at ease and ensure you get the most out of the hour. Listen to instructions and say if you don’t understand anything; group sessions can include a mix of ages.

How long does it take to learn to snowboard?

People learn at different rates, but as a rough guide it takes about 10 hours of lessons for adults to reach recreational standard; children typically take longer. Recreational standard means you can snowboard from the top of the main slope, use the button tow and control your speed.

Can my friend or family teach me on your slope?

No. The centre's insurer only permits qualified instructors to teach at NSASC.

When do the level lessons run?

Level lessons run every weekend from September to May.

Can I pay on the day?

No. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.
