What to Bring

Waterproofs or a change of clothes if it's raining; ensure arms and legs are covered (no short sleeves or shorts); tracksuit bottoms or leggings are acceptable.

Clothing & warmth

Dress so you are warm and comfortable: long sleeves and covered legs are required; bring a pair of gloves.

Helmet policy & hair

Participants will be fitted with a helmet on arrival — please avoid buns or ponytails to ensure a proper fit.

Planning Your Outing

What happens on the day?

Check in at reception in the main building and arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time. You will be introduced to your ski instructor and fitted for kit if required.

What happens during the session?

Your instructor will put you at ease, give clear instruction, and help you get the most from the lesson. Listen carefully and speak up if you don’t understand. Group sessions may include a mix of ages.

How long does it take to learn to ski to a recreational standard?

As a rough guide, it takes about 10 hours of lessons for adults to reach recreational standard — being able to ski from the top of the main slope, use the button tow and control your speed; children may take longer.

Can my friend or family member teach me on your slope?

No. The insurer only permits qualified NSASC instructors to teach at the centre.

When do the level lessons run?

Level lessons run every weekend from September to May. Lessons do not run between May and August.

Can I pay on the day?

No. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.

What is the centre’s code of conduct?

Team NSASC treats all visitors with respect and dignity and expects the same in return. Customers who breach the policy will be asked to leave with no refund.
