THE RHYTHM

Thursday mornings that feel like a reset

Sessions usually run on a Thursday morning, offering a reliable weekly window for carving out time for yourself—whether you pick a loch session that stays mostly dry or a longer river outing.

THE COACH

Skill-focused coaching from Biscuit

The program is built around confidence‑boosting instruction: start with basic strokes on the loch or refine intermediate techniques on the river, benefiting from Biscuit’s passion and coaching talent.

THE DELECTABLE

Coffee, cake and conversation alongside paddling

Every outing pairs paddling with locally roasted coffee, tea and biscuits—an important social element that equals the on‑water learning for many participants.

What the day feels like

What the day feels like

The experience unfolds as a short, concentrated immersion: arrive at the meeting loch or river, kit up with provided canoe, paddle and buoyancy aids (plus helmets for river work), then move onto the water for coached drills, navigation and guided paddling—interspersed with breaks for a blether and a brew.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this trip suits — and who should look elsewhere.

1
Beginners seeking a gentle on‑water startLoch sessions welcome people with no previous experience and focus on basic skills in largely dry conditions—a good entry point for adults beginning to learn canoeing.
2
Intermediate paddlers looking to progressRiver sessions are intended for intermediate paddlers who have previously paddled with Biscuit; these outings demand prior experience and comfort with more dynamic water.
3
Solo adults and small groups (18+)All participants must be 18 or older, so the sessions are best for adult individuals or groups seeking outdoor skill development and social paddling.
4
Adults preparing to paddle with childrenWhile sessions are for adults only, many use the coaching to build confidence before taking children canoeing themselves—making it useful pre‑family training.
