Highlights

Outing Highlights

THE FOREST

Old-growth canopies and living carpets

Wander beneath Sitka spruce, western red cedar and hemlock that tower above thick carpets of moss, ferns and wildflowers; keep an ear out for the whistle of the Olympic marmot and watch for elk and black-tailed deer that browse the understory.

THE COAST

Long coastal wilderness and tidal life

Hike along part of the longest stretch of coastal wilderness in the lower 48, visit Ruby Beach to explore tide pools and observe marine life along scenic beaches.

THE RIDGE

Alpine viewpoints and glaciers

Trek up to Hurricane Ridge for expansive mountain hiking and views of Mount Olympus, still capped with glistening glaciers.

What the day feels like

What the trip feels like

Each day unspools as a focused hike or short exploration from your Olympic National Park lodge: morning walks through old-growth forest, mid-trip alpine hikes at Hurricane Ridge, shoreline time at Ruby Beach and tidal pools, and a final morning on the Dungeness Spit before a picnic and return passage toward Seattle. Evenings are spent at the lodge resort, where comfort and hospitality provide a counterpoint to the day’s rugged landscapes.
