What the Paddle Feels Like
You begin in a sheltered cove, get comfortable in your kayak as the guide runs through basics, and then follow a short creek inlet before easing onto the Columbia River. The route hugs shorelines so the wind and current can push you downwind toward Government Cove, where a beach snack break and more quiet exploration await. A brief shuttle returns you to the launch, keeping the outward leg largely downwind and straightforward.

Meet at 1425 Columbia Gorge Way; the outing runs roughly 2 hours.
Check the weather and dress accordingly. Bring sunglasses, a hat, sun protection, beverages and snacks for a beach picnic, a swimsuit if you may enter the water, a towel, and clothes that can get splashed.
Operator provides safe, free parking at the meeting location; a short shuttle (about five minutes) returns paddlers to the launch after the shore break.

What's up with the shuttle?
The shuttle allows the group to paddle only downwind on the outward leg; with a five-minute drive back we save effort on the return.

Yes—the guide is with you at all times and the group never gets far from shore.
