Two hours on a kayak or canoe here is long enough to find quiet coves, watch seals surface nearby and return comfortably to the slipway. Staff help with launching, offer basic instruction if needed, and then you set your own pace — paddling a sit‑on‑top kayak (which will admit some water) or a slightly drier canoe while enjoying bright, clear water and abundant birdlife.

The rental runs for two hours; meet at the operator location (P75 YY86) to check in and collect kit.
Bring a towel, swim togs or a change of clothes and a warm jumper for after the paddle. Quick‑dry clothes are recommended or you can rent a wetsuit.
You can choose sit‑on‑top kayaks or canoes; sit‑on‑tops are self‑bailing and will take on some water, so expect to get wet — canoes are comparatively drier but you will still get wet at the lap and arms.
At the end of your rental return to the slipway, carry boats back to the boatyard and rinse any rented wetsuits in the freshwater bucket and hang to dry.
