Junior Marine Biologist Curriculum
A structured, discovery-driven week: campers rotate through Junior Research Lab and Jr. Vet Lab activities, watch sea‑turtle programs and engage in STEAM projects designed to teach field methods and species basics in an age-appropriate way.
Offsite Field Trips and Site-Based Learning
The program includes a minimum of two offsite days to parks and partner facilities that expand classroom topics into real ecosystems and hands-on encounters with local habitats.

Camp runs daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Campers meet at Loggerhead Marinelife Center for check-in and daily departures.
Pack a labeled lunch, snacks and a reusable water bottle; bring a swimsuit and towel on designated days, a dry-change of clothes, sun protection and the JMB camp shirt (issued on day one). Follow the detailed footwear guidance—closed-toe shoes on campus, enclosed water shoes or strapped sandals for water activities.
Camper lunch may be pre-ordered from the LMC café (cold-menu options; pre-order required). There is no refrigeration on site and campers are not permitted to make individual purchases during camp hours.

Sunscreen must be applied before arrival and before beach or field activities; campers are responsible for reapplying during the day and the center recommends marine-safe biodegradable sunscreen available in the gift store.
