Akamas Peninsula National Park is located on the northwestern tip of Cyprus and is an area known for its rich biodiversity, spectacular landscapes, and unique geological formations. The park covers a series of rocky hills, deep gorges, and pristine beaches. It is home to numerous endemic species, including the Cyprus mouflon, a rare wild sheep, and a variety of plant species not found anywhere else in the world. The national park's history is tied to Greek mythology, with references to the warrior Akamas, son of Theseus, from whom it derives its name.
