Ndere Island National Park

Ndere Island National Park is located in Lake Victoria, near the town of Kisumu in western Kenya. The park covers the entirety of Ndere Island, a steep, rocky island rising sharply from the lake. It spans approximately 4.2 square kilometers (about 1,037 acres) and is known for its dense woodland, grassy clearings, and diverse wildlife. The island supports an abundance of bird species, including fish eagles, kingfishers, weavers, and sunbirds, making it a premier destination for birdwatchers.
