Saanane Island National Park

Saanane Island National Park is located in Lake Victoria near Bukoba town in the Kagera Region of northwestern Tanzania. The park covers a small freshwater island that provides an important refuge for unique wildlife species and indigenous plants. Established in 2013, it is Tanzania’s only island national park and encompasses an area of approximately 2.18 square kilometers.
