Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Ganondagan State Historic Site is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York and holds significant cultural and historical importance as the site of a 17th-century Seneca settlement. The site preserves over 500 acres of meadows and woodlands along with a reconstructed Seneca Bark Longhouse and an interpretive center that provide insight into the heritage and lifestyle of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy. The trails weaving through the site offer visitors a chance to explore and appreciate the natural beauty, including diverse plant species and gentle landscapes. Ganondagan also hosts various cultural events, workshops, and festivals that celebrate and educate the public about Indigenous cultures.
