The Boberger Niederung Nature Reserve encompasses a diverse low-lying landscape near Hamburg characterized by rolling sand dunes, wet meadows, ponds, and small forests. This protected area spans approximately 212 hectares and preserves one of the last remnants of open dune and moorland habitats in the Hamburg region. The reserve lies south-east of Hamburg city, closely bordering the quarter of Billwerder and Boberger Dünen. Its varied mosaic of habitats supports a rich variety of flora and fauna, including rare orchids, amphibians, and a significant population of breeding and migratory birds which attract nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers alike.
