The float is approximately three hours long. Trips meet at the Charlemont base and registration begins at the trip start time.
Expect everything to get wet. In warm weather guests commonly wear bathing suits plus shorts or sun shirts; avoid cotton. In cooler weather choose wool or synthetics. Bring any required medications, extra money for snacks or souvenirs, and a change of clothes for after the trip.
Guests are required to wear the operator’s helmet and PFD; helmets fit up to 62 cm head circumference and PFDs fit up to a 56‑inch chest. You must wear sneakers or other shoes that can be secured to your feet—no flip‑flops or Crocs. Wetsuits, splash jackets, and neoprene river booties are available for rental.

Leave valuables and dry clothes in a locked vehicle before the trip. Keep your car keys during registration—the staff will collect them and place them in a lock box while you are on the water, returning them after the trip.
