What the day feels like

What a Day Feels Like

Days are compact and deliberate: arrival and safety briefing, a morning surf slot, a lunch break with beach games, then a second surf session before pick-up. The structure is built for regular practice and supervised progression over the 2- or 4-day program.

Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Outing

Does my child need to be able to swim?

Poor swimmers are welcome; instruction takes place in waist-depth water where children can stand with their feet on the sand.

What happens in bad weather or poor ocean conditions?

Lessons run rain or shine and the school rarely cancels; if the ocean is judged unsuitable they will reschedule lessons if your schedule allows.

Do parents need to stay for the program?

No — the program is designed as a drop-off service with arrival at 9:00am and pick-up at 1:00pm.

Can my child use their own surfboard and wetsuit?

Yes — all equipment is provided but participants are welcome to bring their own boards and wetsuits; if conditions are unsuitable for personal gear, school equipment will be used.

What does supervision look like?

Lessons are run by experienced, qualified instructors who are first-aid trained and surf-rescue awarded, with a target maximum instructor-to-surfer ratio of 1:6 and extra care provided for younger or more vulnerable surfers.

My child has learning or physical difficulties — can they join?

Yes — the program has experience with a broad range of learning, behavioural and emotional challenges; if a child has a serious physical limitation that prevents activity, contact the operator to discuss suitability.
