Mountain boots or shoes with good grip are mandatory. Also bring a small backpack with water, comfortable clothing, a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, a hat and a picnic if you plan to eat on the trail.
The experience is guided and includes a safety briefing on site; participants who are not in central Funchal or Caniço should arrange their own transport to the pickup points.
