What the day feels like
What the Float Feels Like
Expect an unhurried first hour of easy drifting where the river is broad and calm and the bridges dominate the view. After that the channel tightens and the current picks up a bit; it’s still a relaxed float rather than anything technical or extreme. The Tube Shack outfits groups and runs a shuttle so the outing reads like a single, continuous river day rather than a logistics puzzle.

Frequently asked questions
Planning Your Outing
Can we take bags and coolers down the river?
Yes — you can tie items to your tube or reserve a swift tube (with a bottom) to hold gear.
Can two people share a tube?
Regular tubes fit one person; swift tubes are suitable for an adult and a small child. Adults and older kids are recommended to book their own tubes and use a tube strap to float together; ask for one at the counter.
Can we bring our dog?
Small dogs can sit on your lap and are allowed on the bus. Medium to large dogs aren’t recommended because they can’t sit in a tube with you and the swim would be long; they are permitted on the bus if you choose to bring them.
Should we wear shoes?
Shoes aren’t required, but wearing a pair will make the end of the trip more comfortable when walking up from the river.
How rough is the trip — are there rapids?
The first hour is a laid‑back float where you’ll pass old bridges; the river narrows later and the current picks up a bit, but it’s a relaxing float rather than an extreme or technical run.
