Handgun Skill Builder II (HSB2) picks up where the first course left off, sharpening pistol fundamentals under tactical pressure. Across a single, concentrated day at Redwood Gun Club, instructors move students through planned drills that reinforce muscle memory, introduce deliberate stress in a controlled setting, and teach shooting from multiple angles and with either hand—work intended to turn routine practice into reliable performance.

THE PROGRESSION

A direct follow-up in a staged curriculum

HSB2 is designed as the next step after Handgun Skill Builder 1 and prepares students for continued advancement in the series.

THE FOCUS

Tactical drills under stress

The curriculum emphasizes stress inoculation and tactical drills to tighten groupings and improve accuracy under simulated high-stakes conditions.

THE SKILLS

Versatility: hands, angles, and transitions

Students practice strong- and weak-hand techniques, target transitions among multiple adversaries, and turning-and-shooting from right, left, and back sides to build real-world versatility.

What the day feels like

What the day feels like

Expect a focused, high-intensity six-hour session where classroom cueing gives way to repeated live-fire repetition: short-range shooting (3–10 yards) on designated targets, drills to transition between targets and hands, and a final phase of stress-inoculation tests. The pace is deliberate but demanding—structured to accelerate measurable improvement between the first drills and the course’s conclusion.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this course suits — and who should wait

1
HSB1 graduatesDesigned as a follow-up to HSB1, this course is intended for students who have completed the introductory skill builder and want to progress into more tactical drills and stress training.
2
Tactical-minded shootersIf you’re focused on building practical speed and accuracy under pressure—strong/weak hand work, target transitions, and turning-and-shooting—this course matches that objective.
3
Casual or beginner shootersNot ideal for complete novices; the curriculum builds on prior fundamentals and includes high-volume live fire and stress inoculation components.
4
Those who travel lightThis course requires substantial gear and ammunition (see planner). If you cannot bring a medium-to-full-size pistol, multiple magazines, and several hundred rounds of factory ammo, this class will be a poor fit.
