Two Sessions to Stay Certified: Humboldt County CCW Re-Qualification in Eureka.

Highlights
Outing Highlights
A precise 25‑shot standard at 10 yards
The qualification requires 25 shots per qualifying handgun, at 10 yards on a B‑27 target; any impact within the #7 ring counts as a hit. The course of fire is exacting: count your shots and place them consistently.
No make‑ups, strict counting rules
There are no make‑up shots—any extra shots beyond the allotted count register as misses. Missing more than three shots results in failure of that firearm's qualification.
Malfunctions and safety infractions carry immediate consequences
If a firearm experiences more than three malfunctions (Type 1, 2, or 3), that firearm will be failed. Negligent conduct—such as muzzling an instructor or another student—will result in immediate disqualification and ejection.
What the day feels like
What it feels like to re‑qualify
The first day is a classroom stretch: laws, safe storage and transport, self‑defense mindset, situational awareness and a written test. The second day shifts to the range where you bring qualifying firearms, run proficiency drills (reloads, malfunctions, safe handling, field strip/reassembly) and complete the timed qualification under supervised conditions.
