You meet in Ongarue before morning shuttle, are driven into the Pureora end of the Timber Trail, and spend a full day riding forested track—averaging 4–6 hours including stops—before arriving at Camp Epic to unpack, warm up around the fire and sleep under canvas. On day two you head out when you’re ready to complete the remaining section back to Ongarue, collect your luggage and finish where you began.

Camp Epic is self-catered—bring your own food and drinks (breakfast for day two is provided). For the ride bring appropriate cycling clothing, a rain jacket, plenty of water and food, and bike spares (spare tube, pump, chain link, multi-tool).
If staying in canvas tents, bedding and towels are supplied; bring toiletries and warm clothing for cold nights. The camp has a shared kitchen, fridge, basic pantry items, hot showers and toilet facilities.
The operator offers 2-day hard-tail mountain bike hire and 2-day e-bike hire; consider hiring if you cannot bring suitable equipment and carry spares and tools regardless of hire.
