THE HISTORY

Antebellum House & Family Legacy

The Felicity House dates to 1845–1847. In 1899 Jean Saturnine Waguespack purchased the property and, in 1901, the family merged Felicity with St. Joseph Plantation under the St. Joseph Planting and Manufacturing Co., LTD. The same family corporation still owns and operates the site.

THE FILM LOCATIONS

A Screen-Tested Plantation

Beyond agriculture, Felicity has served as a filming location for several high-profile projects, including Skeleton Key, Twelve Years a Slave, parts of the Roots remake, Underground, and Filthy Rich.

THE LANDSCAPE

Riverbank Sugar Plantation

Felicity is a working sugar plantation on the Mississippi River and a sister property to St. Joseph Plantation, where sugar farming and historic grounds frame the visit.
