Day one includes a practical water session at the Busselton Jetty — the course pairs classroom theory with in-water practice at this iconic, timber‑piled jetty to apply skills in a recognised local snorkel site.

Day two moves into rescue work: recoveries from depth, team‑based water rescues and towing techniques are practised so candidates can respond to real-world guiding scenarios safely and effectively.

The Snorkel Supervisor Course runs over two days, 9:00 am–3:00 pm each day.
Bring your own suitable mask, snorkel and fins (freediving fins preferable); bathers, towel, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, snacks/lunch and dry clothes to change into.
Meet at Swan Dive on the Busselton foreshore for registration and the course start; ensure all paperwork and a signed physician's medical are completed and brought to the course.

Planning Your Outing
What do I need to complete before the course begins?
You must sign and return all paperwork issued by the instructor prior to the course and bring a signed physician's medical. Certification cannot be issued without copies of all paperwork.
I don't have any freediving gear — what should I do?
That's fine: the Swan Dive team will advise you on suitable gear and honour a 10% discount while you are on the course.
I have snorkel fins — are they acceptable?
It depends on the fins: small paddling fins or heavy dive fins are not suitable. The course recommends committing to a good pair of fins for industry work and will assess suitability in consultation with your instructor.
How long is the course each day?
The course runs for two days, from 9am to 3pm each day.
Where do we meet at the start of the course?
Participants meet at Swan Dive on the Busselton foreshore for registration and the start of classroom and practical sessions.
