On the placid water of Augusta’s lake, Flatwater Fitness & Fun runs a targeted SUP Core & Cadence drop-in class designed to sharpen paddle technique, build core strength and reinforce a sustainable cadence through coached intervals. The program is deliberately compact — short sessions, a capped roster and provided gear — so participants leave each morning with clearer mechanics and more confidence on the board.

Outing Highlights

THE WORKOUT

Core conditioning with cadence-focused intervals

This class emphasizes building core strength and finding consistent paddling cadence through a mix of coached technique work and sprint intervals, delivered in a compact 45-minute session.

THE INSTRUCTION

Professional coaching in a small group

PaddleFit-certified instructors provide focused coaching to improve skills and confidence, with classes intentionally limited to ten participants for personalized attention.

THE ACCESS

Everything provided, lake permit included

Boards, paddles and PFDs are supplied for each session, and the daily lake permit for the class is included in the fee so you can arrive ready to get on the water.

What the day feels like

How a class unfolds

Each 45-minute session is structured for efficiency: brief setup with provided gear, concentrated on-water coaching that pairs core-strength drills with cadence practice and intermittent sprints, and a short wind-down — all conducted in a small group so instructors can tailor feedback and progressions.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this drop-in class suits — and who should consider alternatives.

1
Small-group fitness seekersIdeal for paddlers who want concentrated coaching and a fitness-focused SUP session in a capped group of up to ten participants.
2
Technique-minded beginnersGood for newer SUP riders seeking guided technique work and confidence-building under certified instructors in a controlled class environment.
3
Early-morning athletesDesigned around compact morning sessions — the format favors those who can make a scheduled 45-minute class rather than open practice at other times.
4
Those who need guaranteed datesLess suitable for participants who require fixed, non-changeable dates: classes will be rescheduled when winds top 25 mph or when weather is considered dangerous for water activities.
