Coasteering at Cayton Bay threads cliff-top drama with open-water exposure: adventure swimming along sea cliffs, scrambling through gullies, exploring caves and taking graded cliff jumps. The session — delivered against white chalk cliffs and exceptional water clarity — runs as a 3‑hour experience tailored to different abilities and offers close encounters with nesting seabirds in season.

Outing Highlights

THE ROUTE

Cliff swims, gullies and cave exploration

Traverse lower sea cliffs, move through gullies and explore hidden caves — routes are offered at basic, intermediate and advanced difficulty to suit groups and individuals.

THE THRILL

Cliff jumps from 1–10 meters

Jumps are graded so there’s something for everyone: you can expect options from small leaps to more demanding 1–10m drops, with routes chosen to match group ability.

THE WILDLIFE

Clear water and nesting seabirds

The chalk coastline yields excellent visibility; on early‑summer trips you may see nesting puffins, razorbills and gulls close to the cliffs.

What the day feels like

What the session feels like

Expect a fast‑moving, varied three‑hour session that mixes short travel, kit‑up and safety briefings with roughly 2.5 hours of on‑water activity: swimming between rock features, scrambling the lower cliff band, poking into caves and finishing at a climb‑out or chosen jump. Instructors run basic, intermediate and advanced lines so groups get the right balance of exposure and fun.
