Duration & Logistics

This is a 4‑day river trip. Transport to and from the river (Taumarunui, Ohinepane, Whakahoro, Pipiriki) is included; the operator can also provide drop‑off at Raetihi (Intercity Bus), National Park or Taumarunui. Free camping before your journey with a boat ramp onsite, carparking/vehicle storage and luggage storage at the base are provided.

What’s Included

Included: two‑person canoe or single kayak, life jackets, waterproof barrels for gear, paddles and spare paddle, comprehensive maps with campsite photos and hazards, comprehensive safety briefing (in person and video), on‑water paddle briefing and practice, complimentary barista coffee on departure morning, home baking and juice at pickup for multi‑day journeys.

What’s Not Included

Not included: Department of Conservation campsite/hut fees, private accommodation (e.g., Posh Pioneers or lodges), and camping gear (which can be hired from the operator).

Facilities & Extras

Facilities at the base include free Wi‑Fi, showers and toilets. The operator can transport backpacks and suitcases to pickup points if you plan to finish at Pipiriki, Raetihi or National Park.
