COSTA TEGUISE WATER ACTIVITIES FIELD GUIDE
Learning to Fly: Two Guided Shallow Dives off Costa Teguise
A supervised SSI Basic Diver program that takes beginners through two progressive dives — including buoyancy training — over a 4–5 hour session.
Learning to Fly: Two Guided Shallow Dives off Costa Teguise.
Off the sheltered shores of Costa Teguise in Las Palmas, Spain, the SSI Basic Diver (2 dives) program offers a calm, coached introduction to scuba: two supervised dives that begin with familiarization and progress to a slightly deeper second dive, teaching buoyancy control and a near-weightless sense of movement beneath the surface.
Highlights
Outing Highlights
Two supervised, progressive dives
The session consists of a first familiarizing dive followed by a second dive after an additional briefing, both conducted under close instructor supervision so newcomers can build confidence underwater.
Buoyancy control instruction
You’ll learn to use a buoyancy control device to adjust trim and movement, enabling freer movement and the weightless, flying sensation that makes diving memorable.
Shallow depth limits for comfort
The program limits exploration to a maximum depth of 12 metres to keep the experience comfortable and safe for beginner divers.
What the day feels like
What the session feels like
Over a roughly half-day session you move from surface briefings and instructor-led practice into the water for a first, short dive, then return for an additional briefing before a second, slightly deeper exploration. The emphasis is on supervised skill-building — especially buoyancy control — so you spend the time learning to trim and move with minimal effort while soaking in the marine environment.
