Coasteering with Sea Shetland is an action-packed way to read the shoreline from sea level: moving through the intertidal zone by swimming, scrambling over rocks, entering the sea and, where appropriate, cliff jumping and exploring hidden caves. Sessions are tailored to group ability so they welcome first-timers as well as experienced coasteerers.

THE LANDSCAPE

Intertidal Drama and Hidden Caves

The session focuses on the intertidal zone of Lerwick’s coastline—where rock, sea and tide combine to reveal caves and jump-ready ledges that you can only access from the water.

THE ACTIVITY

Swim, Scramble, Climb and Jump

A mixture of short swims, wading, rock scrambling, climbing in and out of the sea and controlled cliff jumping forms the core of the experience—delivered in a way that matches group ability.

THE GROUP

Open-Group Sessions for All Abilities

Sea Shetland runs open-group sessions sized for small groups so guides tailor the pace and challenges to suit everyone from nervous first-timers to seasoned coasteerers.
