Timing & Arrival

Lessons are 60 minutes long; all participants should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start to check in at reception and be fitted for boots and a snowboard.

What to Bring

Wear waterproofs or bring a change of clothes if it's raining, cover arms and legs (tracksuit bottoms or leggings are fine), and bring a pair of gloves. Participants will be fitted with a helmet, so avoid buns or ponytails.

Booking & Payment

All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance; payment cannot be made on the day.

Group & Age Limits

Lessons are suitable for ages 7 to adult and can be booked for groups of between 1 and 9 people; every person in the booking must be the same ability level.

Planning Your Outing

What happens on the day?

Please check in at reception in the main building when you arrive; all participants must arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time and you will be introduced to your snowboard instructor.

What happens during the session?

Your instructor will put you at ease, run through instruction at your pace, and is available to clarify anything you don’t understand—listen to instructions and speak up if needed.

How long does it take to learn to snowboard?

Learning rates vary, but as a rough guide it takes about 10 hours of lessons for adults to reach recreational standard; children typically take longer.

Can my friend or family member teach me on the slope?

No. The centre's insurer only allows qualified instructors to teach at NSASC.

Can I pay on the day?

No. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.

What is the code of conduct?

Team NSASC treats all visitors with respect and dignity and expects the same; customers in breach of this policy will be asked to leave with no refund.
