Learn slab building and decorative methods

The class emphasizes slab‑building: clay rolling, creating textures and 3D elements, and the use of tools, cutters and texture rollers to craft mugs, plaques or angel/fairy figurines.

THE FINISH

Color, firing and collection

Participants add color with underglazes in the final 15–20 minutes; the studio dries, glazes and fires one finished piece per person and holds work for later collection or postage for a small additional fee.

What the session feels like

The session opens with a clay‑rolling introduction and demonstrations of slab construction, textures and building 3D elements. Under the instructor’s direction you’ll choose a project—mug, plaque or figurine—use cutters and texture rollers to develop form and surface, then spend the final 15–20 minutes applying underglaze color. The studio retains all work for drying, glazing and firing; one piece per person is included in the post‑class finishing.
