The session runs 1 hour 45 minutes and includes hands-on baking and a tea tasting.
Bring only your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes suitable for baking; the operator supplies all equipment, ingredients, aprons, customisable decorations and a takeaway box, and handles the washing up.
The class meets at 110 Floodgate St, Deritend, Birmingham B5 5SR, in The Big Bakes’ marquee/tent venue—arrive a few minutes early to check in.
Chairs can be provided at your baking station on request; the venues have a limited number of stools for children and do not provide highchairs because of space and exit-route restrictions—contact the operator in advance if you need seating.

Yes — the operator can provide a chair at your station if you need to sit during the event; request this in advance so it’s ready on arrival.
How do I request a chair before the class?
Contact the operator in advance to let them know you require a chair and they will ensure the station is set up accordingly.
Can children attend and what are the age rules?
Children can attend: those aged 5 and under may join for free when in a team of three with two full-price ticket holders; ages 6–13 must bake with a responsible adult and all bakers in this range require a ticket; ages 14–17 do not need to bake with an adult but must be accompanied by a responsible adult who supervises up to four children.
Do you provide equipment, ingredients and aprons?
Yes — the operator supplies all equipment, ingredients, aprons, customisable decorations and a takeaway box so you only need to bring yourselves.
Is washing up included?
Yes — the operator handles the washing up, so you can relax and enjoy the post-bake tasting.
How long is the class and what will we do?
The class is 1 hour 45 minutes long and covers preparing, baking and dressing classic British scones with homemade jam and cream, followed by a tea and tasting.
Are highchairs available for very young children?
