This trail is amazing, but it is not for beginners whatsoever. I wouldn't consider myself a pro, but I do have relatively decent gear and a couple 100 miles of trails under my belt. But this really tested me and was very difficult after a rain storm the day before and in the rainy season for the flood plain in the summer. There are feral pigs that were very frequent. Luckily, they aren't dangerous to you, just screaming will scare them away. Just lifting my hands up and yelling "go pig" made them squeal and run away right away. Great opportunity to see much wildlife: birds, gators, lizards, frogs and maybe turtles but I saw none.

Best hike I’ve done in the Central FL area. Lost count of gators, raccoons, opossums, birds, & more. I’d recommend this hike to anyone looking to see nature while hiking.

Beautiful trail and beautiful views. I recommend trekking poles because of the roots and weird elevation. You have to navigate easy to twist an ankle. I did the full loop and I recommend also starting and doing a clockwise instead of the intended counterclockwise. It’s better to finish off with the views then start.
