This scenic preserve features a striking cascade flowing over layered shale rock formations, creating a serene setting where water carves through rugged cliffs. The waterfall itself forms a dramatic drop amid a small ravine, surrounded by towering trees typical of the northeastern deciduous forest. The preserve offers visitors a glimpse into the area's geology, including the visible sedimentary rock layers and moss-covered stones that hint at the slow forces of erosion shaping the terrain over millennia. Seasonal changes bring distinct moods to the preserve, from lush green canopies in summer to fiery hues in fall. Returned 8/2026, trails in terrible shape, several fallen tree hazards and still absolutely COVERED in poison ivy even encroaching on the board walks. Beautiful, shady, easy trail. Be careful, there are many areas that are COVERED in poison ivy, with only a thin trail between paychrd.

Very nice place for short hikes. The trail markings need to be improved a bit. Be careful of poison ivy around some of the trails
