Hiked this trail on 29/06/2026, the trail is still closed from just over 3 miles in due to fires / landslides. But still definitely worth the hike as others have said the first 3 miles seems the best anyway! The nicest part of the creek with the waterfalls and plunge pools is around 2.5-3 miles in. Parking - You can park 6 cars in the lot if parked properly. I went on a Monday lunchtime and there were 2 spaces available. Hiking - nice steady uphill following the creek all the way, lots of shade in the surrounding trees, and lots of nice views of the surrounding mountains and the river running down. Closure - 5-10 minutes hiking past the 3 mile marker and the trail is closed off with a barrier and warning signs, turn round here. Distance - from car to closure barrier and back again is about 6.5 miles total.

It’s a less known trail in this area and that’s why I love it! Less traffic and more natural.
