It’s my mother mountain. Dragon’s Back is a must-do for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a quick escape from the urban hustle. With its accessible trail, stunning views, and proximity to the city, it offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.​ The Dragon's Back hike spans 7.2 km, taking approximately 2.5 hours to complete, with an easy to moderate difficulty and an elevation gain of around 221 meters, following a point-to-point route from Shek O to Big Wave Bay. Along the way, you'll pass through the charming coastal Shek O Village, enjoy the serene waters of Tai Tam Reservoir nestled among hills, experience the surfer's haven of Big Wave Bay with its golden sands, and conclude at the tranquil Shek O Beach, a perfect spot to relax after the hike.

You can enjoy the wonderful scenery in a half-day plan. You can enjoy a wonderful view of lush greenery that is different from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is definitely a place you should go to. The bus stop is the starting point for the hiking trail. The course is well-maintained, so sneakers are fine, but pumps are not allowed. There are some gentle climbs and some steep ones, but even those who don't climb or hike can manage to do it. It takes about 50 minutes to an hour to reach the spectacular Dragon's Back. If you walk a little further, you'll reach a place where you'll see a long and narrow map sign.If you search on the internet, you'll see that it's a journey that goes further towards Big Wave Bay, but it's a long journey of more than 2 hours and there aren't any good views. For travelers with limited time, use this long, narrow map sign at Dragon's Back as a guide for turning back. The course is sufficient. Don't forget to bring water and a parasol. Return to the hotel, take a shower and rest During the hot season, if you go early in the morning before the temperature rises, you'll still have plenty of time in the afternoon.
