It's strange to stop on the road and find a place where signs tell you where to go, where to clean yourself, and how to clean your shoes. You can follow a beautiful trail through rocks and vegetation that only grow in this volcanic area. You can admire birds and some rare plant species. Before finishing your hike, it's worth mentioning a mistake or someone removed the exit sign, and if you don't have some guidance, you could end up going around in circles without being able to get out.

It’s very nice but I got lost which I didn’t expect with such a short hike. Exit signage would be helpful.

This is a great trail and walk for folks who want to get away from the rush of civilisation and just immerse yourself in a beautiful setting surrounded by bird song. Though I'd advise getting up early and hitting it before 9 that's when you get the best birding I find.

Fantastic well-managed location with a good diversity of native Hawaiian birds like O’mao and ‘Apapane still singing. Great spot and environment for a relaxing walk.
