A really beautiful place to climb and our guide was very knowledgeable of the area - but the safety standards are lower than in Europe. I would still recommend Adam’s climbing school if you wish to climb in Vang Vieng, but just be mindful it might not quite be the same as what you are previously used too. The main thing that made me a little nervous was when top roping, the top rope was thread through ropes attached to one bolt, different to the two bolts at the top that I am used to (incase one fails). These routes are shared amongst other agencies though so this is not the fault of the company. Second, although our guide was very knowledgeable and a skilled climber, he was a little bit more lax when belaying than I have seen back home. His hand was often off the break rope, although he was using a GriGri belayer which locks automatically it is still good practice to do this. Additionally large periods were spent looking away from the climber (again, GriGri belay equipment is very good and should catch a fall but still, good practice). I am more on the cautious side so these elements did stand out to me. I still had a great time but I did not feel confident enough to fully ‘send’ all the climbs. My friend who is more chill did not feel as afraid to complete all the climbs. I thought the customer service was really good. They were quick to respond to any questions prior, helped instruct where to place feet/hands on a climb and gave us some water and biscuits! Overall, if you want to climb in Vang Vieng, these guys are great. But just be aware of the differences in safety that you may be used to.

Fantastic day! Adam picked us up from our hotel (the low season allows it) and took us to the climbing club. A quick gear fitting, then off to the climbing area. First, a short walk and then a good hundred meters of scrambling to reach the climbing zone. Make sure you have good shoes, not just flip-flops or sandals. Once we arrived at the crag, the scenery was magnificent. The climbing session takes place under a cliff, so we were protected from the rain, which means we could climb even during the rainy season! 😁 Micki is great; he sets routes with astonishing ease and encourages and helps us during our climbs. By encouragement, I mean that when I got too low and wanted to climb down, he told me to go back and try again after a short rest. It was my first time climbing; my partner had already done it indoors. We recommend it 1000%!

Great day climbing, great communication for booking. Our guides were informative and helpful. Started to rain and we were still able to climb without rain effecting the routes much at all.

Great place and experience with a very reasonable price, climbs are great and most importantly are completely covered from the rain. We had to do part of our climb in the rain and barely even noticed it! Highly recommend it to anyone looking to see some great views and get some exercise in while staying in Vang Vieng
