The location indicated on Google Maps is Pha Phuoc Mountain. Pha Daeng is a different place. There is no hiking trail here. There is a path through the rice paddies behind the hotel. It takes about twenty minutes to walk along this path to the entrance of the mountain. It is really great for a rural experience.

Steep hike, ladders seem sketchy but are fine. There's a kid chilling outside collecting the 20k kip entrance fee. Views are good, nice little adventure but quite short. Recommend to combine it with something else and getting transport, because I decided to walk to pha ngern after this and that was rough lol.

The path leads past a hotel with a café. Then, follow the plastic banners. In February, the landscape is dry, but still beautiful. However, the climb is tough, with sections requiring scrambling over sharp rocks (to reach the summit). The flag is difficult to reach if you're not flexible. We were alone. There's a fee (20k) in theory, but no ticket booth.

The climb is not difficult, 10-15 minutes if you don’t slow down.

Nice, quick scramble up the hill. Trust the ladders. Awesome to see balloons and para-motors from the top. Take your time going down. Would recommend wearing trail runners and being comfortable climbing, avoid this one if you aren’t. 20,000 Kip entry fee at the bottom of the hill.
