Groomed, Accessible Paths
Two groomed snowshoe routes run through the property: one very flat for an easy stroll and a second that’s slightly more challenging, each designed to let participants move comfortably through winter woods.
Tracks, Birds and the Chance of Moose or Fox
Guides point out local flora and fauna and animal tracks; walkers may see moose, foxes, snowshoe hares, birds and other small mammals indigenous to Alaska as they move quietly through the forest.
A Kennel, Snacks and Hot Drinks
After the walk there’s time for photos, warm beverages and snacks, and possibly a meet-and-greet with a sled dog near the warming tent and dog yard on the property.

The outing is deliberately relaxed: you arrive at Sluice Box Sled Dogs, are fitted with snowshoes and given a short safety and technique briefing, then follow your guide along one of two groomed loops—typically a quarter- to a half-mile—moving at an easy pace through stands of birch, aspen and spruce before stopping for photos and a warm beverage.
