Deerfield Community Forest spans approximately 7,600 acres across the towns of Marlboro and Brattleboro in southern Vermont. Acquired and managed through a partnership between local conservation organizations and municipal authorities, the forest serves as a community-owned, multi-use outdoor recreation and conservation area. The landscape is characterized by mixed hardwood and conifer forests, rolling hills, wetlands, and scenic streams, providing vital habitat for wildlife including deer, black bears, bobcats, and numerous bird species. The forest’s geography ranges from lowland floodplains along the Deerfield River to higher ridges offering panoramic views of the Green Mountains.
