Gunung Gading National Park is located approximately 37 kilometers from Kuching in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo. The park covers a tropical rainforest environment centered around Gunung Gading, a granite mountain rising to 965 meters. This park is internationally recognized for its population of the Rafflesia, the world's largest individual flower, which can grow over one meter in diameter. The park protects dense lowland and hill dipterocarp forests, offering critical habitat for diverse flora and fauna, including hornbills, gibbons, and macaques. Visitors come to hike through well-maintained trails, explore several waterfalls such as the prominent Asu Waterfall, and enjoy the cool mountain streams and natural pools.
