It's definitely worth doing, the only downside is that it takes 3.5 hours and is all uphill, covering a total of 21 km round trip. But it's worth it. Good footwear is a plus.

Easy, well-organised parking for the Trolltunga hike. Paid at the machine in the morning, plenty of space at 8 am, and the whole area is clearly signposted. I made the mistake of not leaving my receipt on the dashboard and found a notice on the car afterwards — I emailed them with my payment confirmation and got a friendly reply within a few hours confirming everything was fine. Great service, and it's good to know the fees go towards maintaining the trail. Tip: put the receipt on your dashboard before you leave!
